A Tribute to Avicii

Avicii struck a chord in our young hearts just as our hearts were growing up. Much of us grew up with his music whilst in a time of self-discovery and love finding. His music told stories of love and heartbreak; of being young, wild and free to live the life that we’ve dreamed.

Passing away at such a young age he reminds us that each and every new day is a gift, and although that day may bring pain and sorrow, there will be many more which will bring us joy and happiness.  He reminds us to live in the moment and follow the voice inside our hearts. To love like there’s nothing more important on this earth because he knew that in this life we will come across times where the fog, darkness and loneliness can feel like it consumes us, but to remember that love is always there to shine through and saves us.

Below are some of my favourite snippets of his lyrics, I’m sure that we can all relate and remember him what he has brought to us through his music.

Rest In Peace Tim Bergling and thank you for everything ❤

“Feeling my way through the darkness. Guided by a beating heart.
I can’t tell where the journey will end but I know where to start”
– Wake me up

“Under the tree where the grass don’t grow. We made a promise to never get old. You had a chance and you took it on me. And I made a promise that I couldn’t keep”
– The Days

“Now as you wade through shadows that live in your heart. You’ll find the light that leads on. Cause I see you for you and your beautiful stars. So take my hand, don’t let go”
– Broken Arrows

“Hey, when face to face with all our fears. Learned our lessons through the tears. Made memories we knew would never fade”
– The Nights

“You said that we would always be. Without you I feel lost at sea. Through the darkness you’d hide with me. Like the wind we’d be wild and free.
– Without you

Jason Li (born 17th October 1992) grew up in the big bad city of Sydney. After all these years, he’s still growing up; or at least trying to. Sometimes he writes. Sometimes he gets lucky and writes something good. Most of the time, however, he has no idea where life is taking him, living life just one single day at a time.
