I’ve always admired how knowledgeable you are, especially with those things in which you’re most passionate about.
It always feels like we havn’t known each other for long, but maybe that’s because there’s still a lot we don’t know about each other! Much more for our future selves to learn then.
When we last spoke, we talked about how our lives have both been very different this year. That this year we’ve both been spending our time and energy on something rather different from the past; we could both say that we have become a lot busier in our lives. You took a small step back from some of the things you used to enjoy doing from putting your incredible blog on hold, to your unique cooking and travelling adventures. You haven’t been exploring and hiking as much as you used to as well; was it you showing me your new area or was it me showing you? 😛
But all of this, we realised that maybe this was not actually a bad thing, it has taught us so much about the value of our time and energy. We concluded that it is okay to put things on hold to expand and build ourselves in other areas. You shifted your time and energy on your studies and found an interesting area of work that you might now want to pursue. Meanwhile, I shifted a lot of mine towards my work, learning as much as I can before I make my move in January; to me, there’s nothing more important to me right now than to be a valued member of my new team. So maybe this “busy” is more like concentration, it’s more like what do we have to do now to ensure our success in the future, and some of it just happens to be some temporary sacrifices for the greater good.
Aside from this, you couldn’t help but be difficult with your choice of food again but we settled at somewhere super yummy and photo-worthy for you. I was adamant in saying that the dessert we had was THE best dessert I’ve ever had, you were quickly taken aback by my rash conclusion, a mere few bites after entering the realm of sweetness; big call for me to make you said. Maybe by the end, you could see how powerless I was over the desert and you’d changed your mind as well.
There’s so much more we talked about that evening, from the beauty of the river and Melbourne like feel of the Parramatta city to our enjoyment of ducks and interesting way birds fall asleep, the truth is it is so easy for us to talk about almost everything, if only you’d not walk so fast ahead!
There’s a few more thing’s I forgot to ask you, but I’ll leave that for another day 🙂
As the 10th Anniversary of DQ.1 comes to an end, it marks the end of an incredible and unforgettable era. Under the Australian sun, Defqon.1 made its way into our lives and deeper into our hearts. The festival, often referred to as a rave represented many things, often unique to each and every individual. But buried deep within its roots is a story of Peace, Love, Unity and Respect (PLUR), the code that brings with it a sense of community and love for all who enjoy the music.
For most people outside of the scene, it’s hard to understand the roots of this community and very easy to cast judgement upon the few outliers which outshine the rest. I don’t believe myself, even after 8 years in the scene can begin to understand it.
But this post is not to cause argument nor take sides. As a personal blogger, this is for me, to remember and cherish the good times I had with good friends; so with that, here are among some of my own favourites over the years. ❤
A picture is worth a thousand words
How foolish of one to forget; and over the past few years that is exactly what I have done.
I’d forgotten the power of a picture.
That as much as I try to write and learn to write well, I was always missing something. In today’s information world of limitless data and limited attention, what captures the viewer is no longer attributed to the majority of what is written, but what is now noticed in those first few seconds. First impressions DO matter for the most part and although a good start may be an interesting tag line or a one line joke to begin the article, you can’t grab the attention more than an incredible picture can.
It may seem obvious at first but a friend of mine recently noticed my blog and brought it to my attention; and with that in mind, I hope to find a picture in my archives that represents every single one of my articles, both old and new.
P.s. I also hope to revive my good old Instagram. Its been over 2 years since my last post, maybe starting October is a good as time as any to start again.
As Spring takes the stage this year, it marks the beginning of the most festive time of the year 🌻🌸🦋🍓🍹At the same time it is the most vibrant, bright in her shades of green, yellow, red, purple and pink!
It’s often seasons pass without any notice and that’s true of so many things in life, so let’s all take a moment to appreciate the beautiful Earth we live knowing that to even have a seasonal change is a miracle on it’s own.
For me, it will be a bitter sweet moment as I spend my last few months here in Sydney with my closest of friends and family. It will be a challenge to balance the workload that will be coming not only in terms of my relationships and the workplace but also the preparations before the move.
For you, Spring is a time of change. A chance to start fresh and new. Spring is a time to take off that heavy coat that’s been weighing you down. It’s a time to celebrate growth and action, reflecting upon those dreams that you have put on hold throughout the cold Winter.
I hope that we all can enjoy this years Spring because before you know it, it’s winter again…for me it is at least up there in the Northern Hemisphere.
Thanks for reading ❤
